Urban India Says Bada Hein To Behter Hein

Urban Indian consumers are buying bigger, larger packs of daily consumable products more than smaller packs in the past 2-3 years. Whereas, rural India is more comfortable in buying smaller packs or sachets for different daily consumable products, said a few consumer goods companies along with supermarket chains including Reliance Retail and Big Bazaar.

Moreover, there is 20-25% growth in bigger packs in comparison to 8-10% growth happening in smaller packs in the past 2-3 years as per FMCG firm Parle.

It said larger packs are selling 2.5 times more than the smaller packs. Also, from 10-15%, the sales contribution of larger packs to the product category has increased to 30-35% in the past two/three years.
